Cognitive behavioral therapy is rooted in psychological learning theories. They act on the assumption, that one can "unlearn" previously learned behavior. This kind of psychotherapy is the most extensively researched and its effectiveness scientifically proven. It entails specific approaches and confirmed interventions for each diagnose.
The main therapeutic goals are symptom-reduction, helping you develop an understanding for the disease and reinstate your quality of life. Hands-on exercises will help you tackle the problem at it's core and establish new positive experiences.
Some additional concepts such as mindfulness, Schematherapy or the emphasis on the therapeutic relationship will be used to support your process.

Every person has a special life-story, coping mechanisms and way of evaluating their internal and external worlds. This is why I develop an individual therapeutic strategy for each patient, based on their personal goals.
Together we will uncover problematic thinking- and behavioral patterns and the resulting emotions. These will be analyzed based on everyday examples. Becoming more conscious of your own actions ist the first step.
The new insights will then be used to replace problematic behaviors with helpful alternatives. These will be implemented in your every day life and establish themselves over time as new habits.
In a first appointment we will get to know each other and talk about your concerns. After exploring your goals, I will explain how I work and the therapy options that would work best for you. The following sessions will include diagnostics, and therapy.
The duration of a session is usually 50 minutes and takes place ideally once a week. Including your significant other or family members is possible at all times.
The length of therapy varies depending on the issue or severity of your symptoms. Short-term therapy amounts to about 10-25 sessions, while long-term therapy takes up to 45 to 80 sessions. Coaching, dependent on the topic varies between 1-10 sessions.
In the end it takes as long as you need to feel substantial improvement.
