Dr. phil. Anna Kuhns
It is a pleasure to welcome you!
As a psychotherapist for cognitive behavioral therapy, I am deeply committed to the philosophy of Empowerment through Self-Help, guiding you through a personalized journey to better mental health. I’m here to help you unravel your conscious and unconscious learning experiences, beliefs, and coping mechanisms.
As of 2021, I have established my private practice, where I am dedicated to offer you comprehensive psychotherapy. Also, I am currently serving as a lecturer at the VFKV, have a Podcast and offer different consultation services to companies.

My core values and work ethic
Professionalism
I am committed to offering you the best therapy by continuously training myself and working according to the latest scientific advances. In addition, regular intervision and participation in conferences are part of my quality management. I firmly believe that you never stop learning and that you can always continue to improve.
Integrity
My personal definition of integrity is that my words and actions are consistent. This also means that I want to comply with the principle of abstinence in the therapeutic relationship as much as possible. This means that I am committed to authenticity in our work together – I will communicate clearly, openly and will sometimes challenge you in conversations.
Accountability
My methods and approaches are transparent at all times. If at any time you feel unsure or have questions, I encourage you to raise them. I am always willing to listen to you and welcome feedback to ensure we build a foundation of trust.

About me
Vita
2009 – 2013
Originally from Cologne, Germany, I ventured to the Netherlands to pursue my studies in Psychology and Neuroscience. During my graduate program in Neuropsychology, I served as a visiting scholar at ‘The Brain Observatory’ at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), where I conducted a comparative study on essential tremor.
2013 – 2016
From 2013 to 2016, I undertook my doctoral studies, collaborating with the Institute for Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-3, Research Center Juelich), and successfully earned my PhD from the University of Cologne.
2017 – 2021
My professional journey in psychotherapy has been diverse, encompassing various clinical settings. Notably, I gained valuable experience at the private clinic Jägerwinkel am Tegernsee, specializing in psychosomatic medicine, and contributed to the psychiatry department of Klinikum Rechts der Isar. I have also been affiliated with the private practice of Prof. Dr. Dr. Zaudig and provided acute short-term-therapy in an ambulatory health care center (PTGZ am Goetheplatz).
